Nature’s Charm Evaporated Coconut Milk is a great staple to have in your cupboard.
It is dairy, soy, gluten and refined-sugar free.
Nature’s Charm Evaporated Coconut Milk is made from coconut milk, coconut sugar, guar gum and salt, and is a simple substitute for standard evaporated milk.
Some people confuse condensed and evaporated milk. But there is a difference, and Nature’s Charm offer both. Evaporated milk is far less sweet, and perfect for both sweet or savoury dishes, whereas the condensed variety is best left for sweet dishes.
Although there is a little sweetener added, it definitely isn’t too sweet and has a very neutral flavour suitable for an assortment of recipes.
It is perfect to add to dishes requiring creaminess, such as curries, including my Thai Green curry, which I loaded with tofu and broccoli, capsicum and carrot. It was a lovely consistency and flavour, and there was nothing about Nature’s Charm Evaporated Coconut Milk that I could fault.
It would also be delicious in smoothies and typical “milky” beverages.
It is a great substitution for regular coconut cream or milk, keeping a coconutty creamy flavour, but without as much fat. In the past, to keep calories low, I’d use soy or almond milk in recipes like curries, but I found soy sometimes separated and almond was just a little watery. Nature’s Charm Evaporated Coconut Milk was spot on.
Nature’s Charm Evaporated Coconut Milk is perfect for any pantry.
