Herman Brot Protein Muesli

Herman Brot Protein Muesli is without doubt the best thing since sliced bread.

(Sliced Herman Brot bread.)

Never has a cereal been quite so perfect on so many fronts.

Herman Brot Protein Muesli comes in three delicious flavours; red fruits, chocolate, and peanut candy. And I love them in that order, and I love them lots. And lots. And lots. And lots.

I’ve always loved breakfast (and every other meal). I am a fan of food, a foodie food lover, and a hungry hungry human. So when I find something that tastes like a party and fits my macros like a tailor-made glove, you’re going to see one seriously happy happy human.

I must admit, when I met old mate Herms, it was love at first sight. We first shared toast together. It was a summer’s morning; there were tomatoes, and a toaster. It was sublime. A perfect moment. It was meant to be.

So when I learned that Herman Brot had come up with a new product – a Herman Brot Protein Muesliprotein muesli, it was as if the gods had spoken. A ray of sunshine beamed down upon me from the clouds. My love, HB, was returning to me.

Even the packaging had my heart throbbing. Black red and yellow beamed at me, the German flag, his homeland. And like golden medals, nutritional facts beckoned.

It was low in sugar – only 2.4 to 3.5g per serve. It was also a good source of fibre. And it was much higher in protein and lower in carbs than its peers, and had a lower glycemic index.

Per serve, Herman Brot Protein Muesli offered me about 20g of delectable vegan protein. His stats were charming; he easily impressed.

Herman Brot Protein Muesli in chocolate had a sweet chocolatey aroma. I peered at the contents. The muesli was tiny – a mixture of white and brown little puffs, and squished teeny crispy discs, a few oat flakes and specks of rich chocolate pieces.

Herman Brot Red Fruits was a delight. I could smell strawberries and raspberries, like exotic fruity tea leaves. There were strawberry and cherry pieces, which managed to infuse my almond milk and create a stunning summery cereal.

Herms needed not a bowl. Nor a spoon, or even milk. He was certainly snackable at any time of day, straight from those picturesque packs.

The Peanut Candy was well described. It was sweeter, but also saltier, with a slight yet unusual nuttiness. When I peered closely and its contents, it contained no nuts. Sneaky sneaky Herms, working his mastery yet again.

Herman Brot Protein MuesliNo flavour was not too sweet, and all were refreshing and breakfasty. Each had a mild earthy, grainy nourishing flavour, with plenty of texture and temptation.

All of the Herman Brot Protein Mueslis held up very well when covered in plant milk, smothered in Kingland soy yogurt or sprinkled over porridge and smoothie bowls. It resisted sogginess and kept its crunch. He would even work wonders over nicecream.

As for the ingredients, Herman Brot relied heavily on soy – soy flakes and original and cacao soy crispies, made from soy protein and soy flour, and other assortments. Quinoa puffs were also included.

They are free from artificial colours and preservatives, and are very very low in gluten (if that causes you concern).

Love at first sight or love at first bite, I would never know. Herman Brot Protein Muesli is incredibly exciting and swept me, yet again, off my feet.

He’s bringin’ cereal back (yeah). Them other boys don’t know how to act (yeah).
